This website would not be complete without special dedication to the one cat and her breeder who undoubtedly contributed the most to Sugarspun...our foundation female "Staatz Caliope Of Sugarspun," and her breeder, Linda Staatz.

There just does not seem to be any set of words that can adequately express the "true" feelings that we have for Callie and the significant contributions that she made to Sugarspun.

As we started to write this dedication it became harder and harder to express all of our thoughts into words. How can one compose a tribute that conveys the love, respect, and gratitude we feel inside our hearts for such a wonderful friend and companion as Callie?

All the little things that makes Callie so special to us....all the memories that we share together......how she chose not to come out from under our bed for a solid week after she came to our house, no matter how much begging we did :)........how Callie gently urges Tammie to share a bite of Braunschweiger........the way that Callie never takes but only gives......... how in the beginning she would wait for the kids to settle down and go to bed so that she could come out for her "special time".........how Callie sought comfort being with Tammie and only Tammie while she peacefully labored awaiting the birth of her kittens.........how one of the most docile of all living creatures would try to bite John every single time he would try to touch one of those precious newborns.

Although you never had a title, Callie, it wasn't because you did not deserve one, not that you ever cared about any old title.  It wasn't as though you did not produce beautiful kittens time after time so deserving of being a Distinguished Merit, put the lack of that title on your owners.

Miss Callie.......we promise you that there will never be a day where you are hungry or thirsty, nor cold or abandoned. We promise you Callie that if you ever become ill we will provide you with the best veterinary care that we can avail.

There will always be a lifetime supply of Braunschweiger here for you Callie no matter what that award winning vet says :). We promise you Callie that this is your home forever, no matter what.  Lastly, Callie, we vow to continue to flourish you with all the love you could ever want or need.  This is our promise to you.
